Journey's End
Our three-bedroom vacation rental in the Beckley historic district offers guests convenience to southern West Virginia's executive center, university district, and its scenic and outdoor-adventure attractions. Twenty-five minutes north of skiing at Winterplace and thirty minutes south of rafting in the New River Gorge, vacationers will find we offer the best of everything through all seasons.
The Journey's End house was built in 1921 for the Flint family in the Midwest bungalow style, which generally features, as it does here, built-in shelves and cabinetry and large windows that admit plenty of fresh air and sunlight. The rental is located in a quiet residential neighborhood near the Raleigh County Public Library. You're welcome to stroll safely past Beckley's oldest homes, take a walk on the Beckley Rail Trail, or tour the adjacent Beckley Courthouse Square National Historic District, which includes a variety of restaurants and specialty shops and some of Beckley's best architecture -- all within a five minute walk. The campus of Mountain State University is also a walk of less than five minutes from your door.
Journey's End is a preferred site for skiing and rafting groups and families, particularly those who wish to lodge near Beckley's hospitals, restaurants, shopping centers, and convenient Interstate highways. As a business meeting space, we're a preferred site for small gatherings -- a drive of fewer than five minutes from the area's legal, medical, commercial, and industrial parks and centers. Skiing at Winterplace and whitewater rafting in the New River Gorge are two of the area's top attractions, though hiking, biking, fishing, and hunting attract many visitors to the region.
